The adults-only haven in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, is seeking a passionate Sustainability Lead to champion our environmental mission. Based full-time on breathtaking Malolo Island, this role reports to the Head of Operations and focuses on driving marine and land-based conservation programs and sustainable initiatives across our resort. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and lead marine conservation programs, such as coral reef restoration and marine life protection, in partnership with local communities and environmental groups.

Oversee land-based conservation efforts, including waste reduction, native planting, and habitat preservation, to protect Malolo Island’s ecosystem.

Implement sustainable initiatives across resort operations, from energy-efficient systems to eco-friendly guest amenities, reducing our environmental footprint.

Collaborate with departments like Kitchen, Housekeeping, and Guest Services to embed sustainability into daily practices, such as minimizing single-use plastics.

Educate and engage staff and guests on conservation through workshops, tours, and interactive programs, enhancing Tropica’s eco-conscious reputation.

Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, such as waste diversion and energy use, to track progress and align with Tropica’s green goals.

Coordinate with off-island partners and local iTaukei communities to ensure initiatives respect Fijian culture and support regional conservation efforts.

Support resort events (e.g., weddings, buyouts) by integrating sustainable practices, ensuring eco-friendly experiences.
Requirements:

Degree or certification in environmental science, sustainability, marine biology, or a related field or equivalent experience.

2+ years in sustainability, conservation, or environmental management, ideally in hospitality or remote settings.

Knowledge of marine and terrestrial ecosystems, with experience in conservation programs (e.g., coral restoration, waste management).

Ready to live and thrive on Malolo Island, embracing island life with boat transfers and shared accommodation.

Strong communicator who can inspire staff and guests to embrace sustainability.

Organized and collaborative, able to work with diverse teams and external partners.
