The Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) will devise and manage FNU’s marketing strategies across online channels, integrating and managing social media tools to underpin marketing and communication strategies. He/She will work closely with the web team and the marketing team to enhance and communicate the University’s brand, purposes and portfolio to a variety of stakeholders.

The DMS will support staff within the Marketing, Communications and Web Team to develop digital marketing activities, including the development of highly attractive digital content for the website, social channels, videos, blogs, infographics and interactive web and mobile applications for marketing and promotional purposes. He/she will be expected to keep abreast with the new range of media techniques and technologies that are currently and those which may emerge in future.

Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible to:
a) Manage the marketing relationship with social media engagement, such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram, responding to customer questions and proliferating key marketing messages
b) Design, manages and monitors electronic mail shots, including writing content for a variety of marketing materials, media and audiences
c) Regularly monitors best practice websites, sharing insights with key stakeholders. This would include providing and interpreting analytics for line managers and marketing colleagues.
d) Develop Digital Marketing Plan for higher Education programmes and TVET programmes, locally and regionally
e) Improves on departmental efficiencies and uses electronic methods as a means of cutting costs in areas such as print, postage and labor hours.
f) Works with the Marketing and Events Officer to analyse and disseminate social media insights and metrics.
g) Provides in-depth analysis and interpretation of campaign purpose and performance.
h) Regularly monitors the introduction of new technologies and researches the significance of these to the enrolment goals of the institution.
i) Devises target market e-strategies in response to customer demand and behaviour, competitor activity, and institutional needs.
j) Conducts on going SWOT analyses to e-marketing specific campaigns, and advises colleagues of the results in order to refine on line activity.
k) Demonstrates and disseminates how digital campaign tracking / customer feedback has influenced content planning and placement.
l) Develops and maintains Marketing and Recruitment databases and undertakes market research, including the interpretation and analysis of market trends, and the dissemination of the results to colleagues and managers, along with recommendations for potential implementation.
m) Generates Marketing and Recruitment reports, questionnaires and surveys in collaboration with the Senior Manager Marketing and Branding and the Director Marketing and Communications, using a range of online and offline methods.
n)The role holder will take a lead role in the presentation of findings and in up keeping data for ongoing analysis.

Knowledge & Skills
a) Excellent computer skills with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, word processing packages, Powerpoint, internet and email are essential.
b) Possesses skills relating to the production of audio, video and images as well as the basic web skill such as HTML/CSS
c) The ability to write clear, literate, concise digital content is essential.
d) Excellent written and communication skills.
e) Ability to work as part of a team.
f) Good planning and organisational skills.
g) Works autonomously to plan and prioritise their own workload.

 Person Specification: 

The successful candidate should ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Degree in Management/Marketing/IT or in the relevant field.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience

The University will take into account the minimum qualification requirements (MQR) for the position alongside relevant experience and technical expertise during the recruitment and selection process. All three factors will be considered during the selection process when reaching a decision.


Salary: FJ$34,105.00 plus 6% superannuation
