JOB DESCRIPTION & SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Cloud 9 is seeking Marine Vessel Engineers (minimum Class 3 or Class 4 qualifications) to join our expanding team on a full-time basis working a lifestyle roster; The successful candidate will lovebeing part of a dynamic team often working under pressure. You will report to the Marine Operations Manager through relevant procedures, be responsible to maintain the safe mechanical operation of vessels ensuring all repairs are conducted safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to;

Perform daily engine and machinery checks on assigned vessels;
Assist Master with the management and safe operations of the vessel in accordance with policies and procedures;
Diagnose system problems as and when they occur;
Ensure all maintenance requirements and ramifications are recorded;
Coordinate and maintain effective vessel preventative maintenance programs; :
Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign-off; :
Assist with securing vessels at the various marinas and island jetties;
Be involved in safety drill practices as required by the Master; and :
Assist with guest experience duties including meeting and greeting of guests.

About the ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled and a team player with a demonstrated positive “can-do” attitude, and have flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and public holidays. You will be an:

Experienced Marine Engineer with minimum Class 3 or Class 4 qualifications (preferably within the Marine Tourism industry); :
Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol and First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
High level of marine engine and system knowledge;
Experience in conducting risk assessments and introducing practical safety measures; :
Excellent customer service skills ensuring to meet the guest expectations;
Experience with high-speed vessels;
Experience with high-speed outboard engines;
Excellent ability to manage time and have strong organisational skills;
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team: and
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with customer service resolution skillWorking on marine diesel engines
Working onboard as an engineer responsible for start-up, shutdown and correct operation of main and auxiliary engines
Maintaining correct operation of onboard systems
Work ashore as part of the engineering maintenance team
Service & general repairs on a wide range of vessels
Diagnostic problem solving & rectification
Demonstrate your ability to provide high-quality work at all times
Demonstrate your ability to work unsupervised
Demonstrate current product knowledge
