We are looking for an Operations Accountant that will be reporting directly into the Manager – Supply Finance and based at our Fiji Brewery, Walu Bay, Suva. The Operations Accountant will be responsible for adding value to the Manufacturing & Finance Teams through accurate production costing, timely and accurate completion of month and year end processes, General Ledger reconciliations, forecasting, inventory governance, insightful cost analysis, risk & opportunities and scenario modelling. The primary goals of this role will be to drive strong business performance; identify business opportunities, capital business case evaluation & support, to enable quality decision making and help facilitate cost; working capital and risk management. The role will act as a subject matter expert for the manufacturing department including the provision of insights driven reporting and management of cost and financial governance.

Key aspects of this role include;

o Manage, direct and conduct activities to ensure month end processes & reporting are efficient; accurate and value adding.
o Manage and conduct the Manufacturing Business Planning Process, including supply chain budgeting, forecasting and R&O Management
o Ensure all costing information is accurate and commodities impacts understood
o Escalate issues to the relevant stakeholders for action in a timely manner.

Career Experience and Qualification

Ideally, you will have:
– University degree in Finance, Accounting or Commerce related fields required.
– CA/CPA equivalent or working towards achieving
– 3 – 5 years of experience, ideally in an FMCG environment.
– Strong understanding of commercial and operational elements related to Supply Chain Services as well as Finance and Accounting activities
– Effective reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to details as well as ability to plan, organize and manage multiple requirements.
– Strong product costing/ financial background with experience in management or financial accounting.
– Thorough understanding of Financial and Commercial manufacturing cost & productivity drivers as well as working knowledge of PBL /FMCG operating environment is preferred.
– Ability to build strong business partnerships and manage working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
– Prior experience with use of financial management systems would be an advantage
– Strong communication and leadership skills.
– The position is site based, with time being split between office and plant-based activities. The incumbent should be able to excel working within either environment.
– Must demonstrate willingness to upgrade/develop skills and apply them to any task and/or area assigned to by superiors
– Must have the flexibility to work additional hours and/or perform any other task assigned by Superiors as and when required.
– Must be able to transition to any Work Area, Shift or Department as and when required.Remuneration package will be discussed during the interview.
