Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise IT Roadmap: Lead the enterprise IT roadmap, including BSS (Billing, CRM and order management, OSS, Network provisioning, assurance and inventory) and ICT infrastructure.
- Digital Transformation: Lead initiatives in AI-driven customer support, self-service portals and data monetisation. Drive automation of manual processes across sales, fulfilment and assurance.
- Data Management: Build a secure data warehouse for customer analytics, churn prediction, targeted marketing and other business initiatives.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage relationships with software vendors, system integrators and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and Google).
- Team Leadership: Mentor IT architects, developers, DBAs and support staff.
- Cybersecurity Strategy: Develop and enforce a telecom specific security framework aligned with NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and local regulations.
- Threat Management: Lead a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC), threat hunting, intrusion detection and incident response for network and IT systems.
- Network Security: Protect SS7, Diameter, 5G core and signalling planes from fraud and interception attacks.
- Customer Solutions: Oversee the design, presentation and implementation of cybersecurity and other ICT solutions for enterprise customers and government entities.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with data privacy laws, telecom licensing conditions and breach notification requirements. Manage internal and external audits.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing.
- Security Awareness: Train all employees on phishing, social engineering and secure coding practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Information Security or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 12+ years’ experience in IT and/or security leadership, including at least 6 years within the telecommunications industry.
- Strong expertise in BSS/OSS systems, with experience in Oracle Converged OSS/BSS considered an added advantage.
- Demonstrated success in securing telecom networks, including SS7, 5G, signalling and DPI. Proven ability to lead incident response efforts and manage major security breaches or fraud events.
- Solid understanding of cloud security, zero-trust architecture and API security.
- Exceptional communicator, capable of engaging effectively with boards, regulators and technical teams.
- Able to manage crises under pressure while maintaining a strategic balance between agility and security.
